Q: I get a migraine at least once a month. Is there anything I can do to lessen the severity?
A: There’s more than one way to stop a migraine in its tracks—and even help prevent one from coming on in the first place. And they all start with a trip to your pantry. Check out these easy kitchen counter cures:
Q: My wife recently told me that my breath has been extra stinky lately. Do you have any ideas for slaying dragon breath?
A: An easy way to stomp out bad breath is to get your saliva flowing. What’s the best way to do that? Chew a piece of gum. Any flavor will do—it doesn’t even have to be mint. And if you’re a bad breath sufferer who smokes, quit! Duh—tobacco causes bad breath, among other things.
Q: I get bouts of hemorrhoids so often that I feel like I always have them. Have you got any advice?
A: You bet I do! Keep hemorrhoids away by drinking eight glasses of water a day (herbal tea is okay, too) and cutting back on binding foods like dairy products and meat. To help with the itch, soak a gauze bandage in apple cider vinegar, and place it on the site overnight. Wearing tight underwear or a sanitary pad will keep the gauze in place.
