Take a Swing at Tennis Elbow Pain
Did you hit the tennis courts this week, feeling like you were ready to take on Roger Federer in the French Open, and wind up with a painful case of tennis elbow?
As soon as joint pain starts, it’s always a good idea reach for an ice pack to reduce inflammation and numb the pain. Then protect the injured area with an arm brace you can pick up at a drugstore or medical supply store. It’ll keep your elbow from moving in an inappropriate (and painful) direction.
If you’re looking for fast, natural relief from an ouchy elbow, grab a jar of calendula cream (available at health food stores) and rub ½ teaspoon into the muscles surrounding the joint. It can help reduce the ache so you’ll heal more quickly.
