Tea is Nice – On Ice!

Tea has been comforting folks since prehistoric times, but recent research has shown that the world’s favorite beverage is much, much more than just a soothing sip. It turns out that tea is packed with plenty of antioxidants—more so, in fact, than even the top fruits and veggies. Relaxing with a cup or two will rev up your immune system and help it fight infection.

So this summer, swap out your typical can of soda for a tall glass of frosty mango iced tea. It’s a fresh summer treat that’ll taste like a breath of cool air. Here’s the recipe:
Bring 4 cups of water to a boil. Pour it over 4 regular tea bags in a pitcher. Let it steep for 3 to 5 minutes, then remove and discard the tea bags. Stir in 4 cups of cold water and 1 cup of mango nectar, which you can find in your grocer’s refrigerated juice aisle, most health food stores, or at an Asian grocer. Chill. To serve, pour the tea over ice in tall glasses. Makes 6 servings.
