Be Sweet to Your Feet
Sandal weather is here, so it’s time to take a critical look at your feet. Are they ready to bare all? If not, here’s how to get ‘em into show-off shape:
- Heels—Before showering, pamper your feet with a moisturizing salt rub by moistening a handful of Epsom salts with a small amount of almond or olive oil. Scrub your heels until the salt’s dissolved and the oil has softened your skin. Then gently rub any calluses with a pumice stone or emery board. Follow up with a cream of your choice to keep the area soft.
- Soles—Keep your feet blister-free by avoiding tight shoes, holey socks, and sweaty situations. If your feet tend to sweat a lot, try sprinkling a little cornstarch into your socks before you put them on, and dust some between your toes, too.
- Toes—Prevent painful ingrown nails by only trimming straight across the top of the nail, and never—ever—round the edges.
