A Sticky Solution to Life's Little Problems
Never underestimate the power of that little roll of white tape in your medicine chest. Check it out:
- To banish a corn, cover it with adhesive tape. It’ll seal in moisture and help nudge fresh cells to the skin’s surface. Eventually, the cells that make up the corn will fall off.
- Coax a splinter out of your skin using adhesive tape and a raw potato. Tape a potato slice over the splinter and leave it in place overnight. You’ll be able to pluck it out easily in the morning.
- Next time you have a wart, find a nice birch tree, cut off a strip of bark, and soak it in water until it softens. Next, use adhesive tape to fasten the bark directly to your wart. Birch bark contains salicylates, the basis for some FDA-approved wart treatments.
