Honey, Please Pass on Seasonal Allergies
Before the pollen count goes up this spring and seasonal allergies set in, start eating a daily dose of locally grown honey. You’ll be ingesting tiny parts of the plants that normally trigger your sniffling, sneezing, and runny eyes. By building up your immune system with just a teaspoon of honey a day, you’ll develop a resistance and lessen the severity of your symptoms once the season is in full bloom. So spread it on your toast, stir it into your yogurt, or sweeten a cup of tea with it.
(Caution: Never give raw honey to children under age 1.)
