Treat Your Feet to Something Sweet!
Now’s the perfect time to get your feet into sandal-worthy shape. After all, you’re not going to be hiding your rough and flaky dogs under bulky socks and boots much longer.
Start by soaking your feet in warm sudsy water for 20 minutes or so. When you’re done, use a pumice stone to rub away any hardened calluses that were loosened by the soak. Then treat your feet to this homemade sugar scrub:
- Mix 1 cup of granulated sugar with 1/2 cup of olive oil in a plastic bowl.
- Sitting on the edge of your bathtub or shower with your feet inside, scoop up the scrub with your hands and massage it into your heels, soles, toes, and anywhere else your feet are feeling rough.
- Leave the sugar scrub on your feet for several minutes, then wet a washcloth with warm water and use it to gently wipe away the scrub.
- Once your feet are clean and dry, rub a soothing foot cream all over your feet before slipping on a pair of soft, thick socks.
