Super Bowl Stomach Soothers
You know you shouldn’t overindulge, yet somehow, it’s hard to resist all the nachos, chili, chips, dips, and beer that go hand in hand with the Super Bowl. If mindless munching leads to tummy turmoil, make a Hail Mary pass of your own with one of these terrific taming teas:
- Gas-Away Tea. Add 1 teaspoon each of crushed dill seeds and peppermint to a cup of boiling water, and let the mixture steep for 15 minutes. Strain out the herbs before drinking.
- Tender Tummy Tamer Tea. Mix 1 teaspoon each of peppermint, catnip, sweet marjoram, and lemon balm in a bowl. Scoop 2 teaspoons of the mix and add it to a cup of boiling water. Let it steep for 15 minutes, strain out the herbs and sip. Store the rest in an airtight container.
- Stomach Soothing Tea. Mix together 1 teaspoon each of bay leaves, ground ginger, and peppermint in a bowl. Scoop 1 teaspoon of the mixture into a cup of boiling water. Let it steep for 5 to 10 minutes, then strain out the herbs and add honey to taste.
(Note: Use crushed, dried herbs in these recipes)
